NERD ALERT: Ridley Scott’s “Prophets of Science Fiction”

Hey guys. Not sure if you know this, but I’m a huge Science Fiction fan. That’s why I was ecstatic to hear about this new show on Science Channel all about the people who have inspired and impacted Science Fiction. The first three episodes examined the lives of Mary Shelley, Philip K. Dick and H.G. Wells. Tonight, a new episode airs focused on Science Fiction storyteller, Arthur C. Clarke.

The episode examines Clarke’s impact intermingled with current science thoughts showing the visionary qualities of Clarke. The episode is entertaining and informative. It’s impossible to walk away knowing less about the world. Any lover of science will enjoy this episode and the show as a whole.

“Sometimes it takes a true genius to clearly articulate the genius of others.  This is what makes PROPHETS of SCIENCE FICTION such a singular project,” said Debbie Myers, General Manager and Executive Vice President of SCIENCE.  “Having the brilliant Ridley Scott as the on-air guide for this journey enables the series to illuminate the one-of-a-kind inspiration that transforms science fiction to science fact.”

Check out PROPHETS OF SCIENCE FICTION, airing Wednesdays at 10pm on Science Channel.

Heather is a recent West Coast transplant and can't remember what humidity feels like. She spends most of her time (& money) watching movies, marathoning TV shows on DVD, attending concerts, reading, eating vegetables, attending conventions (San Diego Comic-Con, New York Comic Con, Dragon*Con so far!), blogging about her quarter-life crisis, downing coffee and traveling the world. She likes comic books, photography, reading on the Metro bus and wearing cold weather clothes despite the actual temperature in Southern California.
