CASTLE “Secret Santa” Preview

Considering that when I watched this episode, it was still November and that I’m still in denial that Christmas is in 3 weeks, this week’s CASTLE thrusts Christmas upon you whether you’re ready or not. It’s got all of the sentiment, celebration and Santas of Christmas with the bonus of intrigue and murder to keep the cheese from becoming too much. But believe me, this week’s episode will get you in the Christmas spirit for sure.

For all of you Caskett fans who are constantly asking for details on Twitter, here’s what I’ll reveal… There are several (i.e. more than one!) Caskett moments in the episode. Throughout the season I’ve been impressed with the balance the show has taken between their relationship and the cases. This week, the same balance remains. It’s not a Caskett-fest but there’s still a good amount of heart in the episode. I always find Beckett’s history to be kind of mysterious and this week we find out a little bit more of her past.

Plus, whenever Castle’s family is involved, it’s super entertaining. We find out a little bit of what Alexis has been up to at school and more of the family’s holiday traditions, which is fun. My assumption is that since this is the “Christmas episode”, there won’t be any more new episodes of CASTLE until 2013.

Below is a quick clip from the “Secret Santa” episode of CASTLE, airing Monday, December 3 on ABC.

Heather is a recent West Coast transplant and can't remember what humidity feels like. She spends most of her time (& money) watching movies, marathoning TV shows on DVD, attending concerts, reading, eating vegetables, attending conventions (San Diego Comic-Con, New York Comic Con, Dragon*Con so far!), blogging about her quarter-life crisis, downing coffee and traveling the world. She likes comic books, photography, reading on the Metro bus and wearing cold weather clothes despite the actual temperature in Southern California.
